Overview

 

IIT Guwahati's Alcheringa in collaboration with Codingal is conducting an app/web development challenge "Code for Change" for Grade 6 to 12 Students.

 

It is an online competition where students will have to develop an app or a website. The students would be required to participate individually.

 

Format & Project

 

 

The competition is divided into 2 groups

 

 

 

Middle Group ( Grade 6-9)

Project: Students will have to develop an app or a website on "Cyberbullying" using any block-based or programming language.

 

Senior Group (Grade 10-12)

Project: Students will have to develop an app or a website on "Cyberbullying" using any block-based or programming language.

 

Prizes

 

The top 3 winners from each group will get a certificate from IIT Guwahati's Alcheringa and Codingal merchandise

Participants submitting their projects on "Cyberbullying" will get a participation certificate from IIT Guwahati's Alcheringa.

  • Top 3 Winners from each group will also receive merchandise from Codingal

 

  • Students submitting a project on 'Cyberbullying" will get a participation certificate from IIT Guwahati's Alcheringa

Guidelines

There is a 2-level registration for the competition.

  1. Click on the "Start Now" button.

 

      2. When you click on the "Start Now" button, you will have to input your mobile number.

 

      3. Enter the below information in the registration form

 

  • Student's Name
  • Grade
  • Email
  • Mobile Number
  • Parent Name
  • School Name
  • City

 

        Click on the "Submit" button.

 

        Verify your mobile number through the OTP received on SMS.

 

        You are registered for the competition.

 

Project Submission Guideline

 

Go to the "Competitions" tab on the Codingal website

 

Click "Start Now"

 

Click "Start Now" on the "IIT Guwahati's Alcheringa Code for Change" competition page

 

Enter your registered mobile number.*

 

Enter 6 digits OTP number

 

For registered kids " Start now" button will turn to the "Submit Project" button.

 

Click "Submit Project"

 

Fill or Upload the following information for Project Submission

 

  1. Topic* 
  2. Project Name*  (Name of an App or a website)
  3. Development Platform* (Mention the platform on which an app or a website is developed)
  4. Project File (apk file)
  5. Project Link  (Link of the project)
  6. Project Description* (Write a brief about an app or a website that is being submitted)
  7. Upload zip file of screenshots/images of the app/website (should not be more than 50 MB)
  8. Upload zip file of screenshots/images of source code of the app/website (should not be more than 50 MB)

Rupesh Kumar: He is an Instrumentation & Control Engineer from MIT Manipal. He is a seasoned project leader and creative problem solver with 15+ years of a strong background in process industry automation currently working for Emersons Automation Solutions.

 

 

Vaibhav Srivastava: He is an experienced Big Data Engineer with a demonstrated history of working in the computer software industry. Skilled in Apache Spark, Hadoop Framework, Hive, Sqoop, Kafka, Oozie, AWS, Java, Oracle-SQL, PL-SQL, Python, Data Structures,

  1. Why do I need to register using a mobile number?
    Mobile number is the primary identification source when you enter the competition and would like to submit the project towards the same
     
  2. Is this competition online?
    Yes, this competition is 100% online. The contestant can work on their project at any place and time as long as they have access to a computer/laptop and an internet connection.
     
  3. How much does it cost to enter into this competition?
    There is no registration fee to participate in the competition.
     
  4. Can I submit projects late?
    Unfortunately, we do not accept any late projects. All projects must be submitted by the project submission deadline.
     
  5. What if I forget my registered mobile number while submitting the project?
    In case, you forget your registered mobile number, you will have to re-register for the competition before submitting the project
     
  6. I have entered the wrong information in one of the form fields while submitting my project.
    If you have entered the wrong information in one of the form fields, refresh the page before clicking on the "Submit Project" button at the bottom of the form
     
  7. Will the old project consider for evaluation?
    No, any old or previous project will not be considered for evaluation.
     
  8. Can I submit more than one project?
    No. You can submit only one project per competition.
